our beginnings
The clubhouse foundations were laid in November 2022, as a home for The Complete Book of Awakening (TCBOA) by Helen Amery and Sara Priestley. If you came looking for Thoughtful Raven, you are in exactly the right place – that was our name back then!

our evolution
Thoughtful Raven combined two elements: a shared enthusiasm for nondual teaching, and Sara’s pet project – creating a clubhouse for readers and authors in practical spirituality. The natural ending of the partnership came in March 2025, as Helen moved her focus away from nonduality.
Sara had been teaching nonduality since 2018 under her long-standing Living Life Sideways brand, and it made sense for that element of her work to return there. But she also wanted to continue what she’d begun within Thoughtful Raven: supporting writers from first spark to bookshelf, and collecting interesting books to join them. It was the perfect time for a spring clean…
… And so, Inky Paw Books became our new name. This honours Merlin, the ex-street cat, who should probably have author credits on TCBOA, and Pretzel, who does love a good Zoom call.
our future
As our next chapter opens, we are actively looking for existing authors who’d like to see their books on the clubhouse bookshelves. Our ethos remains to support and promote high-quality books that can share a perspective that is supportive and inclusive. And, of course, we’ll help you create and publish your book too.
We are interested in all areas of practical spirituality. This includes poetry, fiction, self-help, memoir, personal development, coaching, metaphysics, and any soulful business approach.
